This is my philosophy for watching movies based on books. “Don’t read the book, and you’ll enjoy the movie more than someone who read the book.” Or…”Don’t read books at all.” My proof of this is Star Wars (I’m going to stick with the sequels), Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter Sorcerer’s Stone, Superhero Movies, and I’m going to add The Hobbit Trilogy even though the trilogy just started and we won’t see it completed until 2014. Now I’m not saying the books are bad. As a matter of fact, I only read Harry Potter Sorcerer’s Stone out of the list of series I just mentioned. I’m sure the books are great and all, but I have no attention span for books. Also, I saw Sorcerer’s Stone before I finished the book. You can say I’m weird when I say “I’d rather watch the movie than read the book.” The books do have their purpose though. They give the directer and writer and idea for how to set-up the movie’s tone and characters and everything. And they also offer possible characters for sequels and other movies. However, I enjoy the movie more as someone who didn’t read the book(s), compared to my friend who reads the book(s) and feels disappointed. I can explain this too. I like superhero movies, I liked the Spiderman Trilogy, Dark Knight Trilogy, etc. But I never read the comics. So when they basically hint the next villain in the post credit scenes as they do now in the movies, I get the suspense that makes me wonder who the next villain is that will appear. I’m not saying I’m a complete idiot as to who the villains are for each superhero. I know the basic names like The Joker, Lex Luther, Green Goblin, etc. But not knowing much makes it better for me. When you read the book that a movie is based off of, you expect to see certain parts. Not every part in a book is going to be in the movie. The you become some upset viewer as the movie goes along further from a part you enjoyed in the book. I saw each of the movies listed above, and I ENJOYED THEM. Lord of the Rings was epic, Harry Potter Sorcerer’s Stone was great, The Hobbit was very good and I can’t wait to see Smaug in action in the winter. I was waiting the whole movie to see if they would at least give a glimpse of Smaug’s body. I knew they wouldn’t until the very end, even though it was just his head and his eye opening before the credits. I’m not disappointed in The Hobbit. If I was, it’s only the first movie! Desolation of Smaug and There and Back Again can only be better. Come on guys, it’s PETER JACKSON! You know what he did with the Lord of the Rings! Stop being all upset! If you didn’t enjoy An Unexpected Journey, then I’m sure you’ll enjoy the second part. It’s most likely going to be filled with more action then the first part. Can’t wait until Winter 2013. Until then, we got a good amount of movies coming out in 2013! :)
Me cosplaying/dressed up as Robin Hood. I was originally going for hawkeye as you can tell by the shades. My friends say I pull it off very well. I just wish I had a legitimate bow and a quiver. Oh well. Blasted Halloween stores.
I ordered Tangled 2 Fridays ago, and you sent me an email saying the order shipped last Monday. I understand it takes 7-10 BUSINESS Days to ship, but with my past purchases you managed to get the movie to my house literally by the same day the next week. So when you shipped it last Monday, that should’ve counted as the first business day if I’m correct. Today is Thursday, and since Monday was a holiday, today should be the 8th business day. I’m not that upset but I’m so used to you getting the movies to me ASAP that I’m kinda growing impatient on you. You didn’t send it in the mail today or the past two days while i was off from work. Please have my movie in my mailbox tomorrow, so when my mom or the owner checks the mail tomorrow, I can at least see the package waiting for me on the table when I get home from work, and can relax and watch Tangled. If you want me to fulfill my deal of my agreement, you gotta do your part too and send me my movies asap when I place my order. A man needs his Disney movies to keep him sane haha. That and I’m so close to finishing my agreement with you. So please have Tangled in my house by tomorrow, it comes with a Free Ticket for Finding Nemo in 3D, so that’s even more of a reason why I need to get it now. You’re already the devil to my wallet haha. And please hurry up with the new Wreck-It Ralph trailer. You’re already gonna get 8 bucks out of me to see the movie. You dirty company. But please, hurry up. I only have 2 more purchases at full price to buy before I can get movies for basically 50% off. Plus the fact that The Avengers is coming out soon along with Brave, and I’m expecting the Amazing Spiderman and Dark Knight Rises around the Holiday. Even though you dont own DC Domics…yet.
Just take my money! You’re making a 5th and 6th Pirates, a 4th Toy Story, a 2nd Finding Nemo, and add to that you own Marvel! So add Captain America 2, Thor 2, Ironman 3, Avengers 2, and I think we can all expect a third Captain America and Thor. Are you going to dazzle me with a Hawkeye movie as well? Or another Hulk movie with Mark Ruffalo? Just take my debit card, and give me all your movies! You dirty dog you!
